We neutralise the smell of fire-damaged objects.
The unpleasant smells clinging to documents, books and records that have been stored in unfavourable conditions or that have been damaged by fire are a persistent reminder of a disaster – long after the event occurred.
docusave has developed a natural filtration technique that can reduce – and in the best case eliminate – odours, all without using chemical oxidants, fragrances or other substances. The effectiveness of the method depends on various factors, including the type of material damaged and the specific toxic substances emitted during a fire. Depending on the material, reducing the strong odours associated with fire damage is fairly easy using vacuum freeze-drying. This method is generally chosen when the water used to extinguish a fire has made the objects wet. Odour neutralisation is carried out as an additional treatment. For the procedure to work, all organic substances such as soot particles must first be removed by hand.
